nobody here understands what he is completely capable of. he is a very violent person and has been involved with many illegal activities. nice to see him putting his focus into acceptable forms of abuse

Well people. I am russian, so, maybe, i can tell you some more about those tattoos. All of them has very strict meaning. First of all they are made only in blue and black - that mean they were made in prison. That "stars" on his shoulders are very important thing. They are so called "pogony" - the owner of such tattoos is a head of criminal society - "criminal-in-law", the criminals general. No one can make such stars if he is not one of them. In other way he can be murdered by any gang member.
His brother is a Sambo champion. Sambo is a mixed word. It is "SAMooborona Bez Orugia" - "SELF defence Without Weapon" - the way of fight invented in russia during war against Nazist Germany. To tell the truth I surey agree with cmmcaa and it seems that it was Fedors strong intent to turn Alexanders activities into sport.

Another one - look at the church on his arm. The number of the church heads mean the number of the years he spent in prison.

I am new to that whole sambo thing but i was fascinated by it when seeing the fight between Alexander and Thompson:) Really nice, I have never seen someone being that relaxed and bored as Alexander was:)But it was great and it seems that I became a real fan of that all. But in Germany no one really knows what Sambo is and they are rather not interested in that "primitive" kind of sport so I guess maybe I should move to Russia or at least to a place where people enjoy practicing that.
Whatever, I got a question, is that kind of sport only for men or are there any "girlfights" how one would say?

In MMA or Sambo?

The sport in which Thompson and Emilianenko fought is called MMA and there are indeed girl fights in MMA.

For Sambo I don't know, but Sambo doesn't involve punching at all.

Aleksander Emelianenko's "slowness" mentioned above must not be confused with the guy's personality...You can't blame his size on the way he appears laid back like he doesn't even care before a fight. The guy looks as if he doesnt even know he is about to be in a brawl but then when the bell rings I've never seen hands fly accurately that fast and most, if any, sluggishness must be given to his personality and not his abilities. The man is a crazy ass bastard, and I like him against anyone.

What's the easiest way to stay updated with Aleksander's upcoming fights? It seems Pride's website is not updated often enough...any suggestions?
