Get the point.

Back in the day I used to do security. The kind of rent a cop stuff that paid the bills while I got a lot of walking and running in to keep in shape. I worked a tough couple of sites and one of them was a tough high school were the interracial fights were common. Two gangs both went to school their and while it was not as bad as say LA or NY it was fairly bad.
I had been doing Karate for about twelve years and also Judo for about four. I had done some tournament kick boxing and was in great shape. I was also used to bar fights and had just turned 18, for those of you that live in Canada, that is the age we could “legally” go to the bar. I was young enough to love adrenaline rushes and old enough to know it was stupid to risk your neck just for fun.

I was working at the school and head been warned that the Philipino gang did not like white guys and the native gang only liked the Philipinos less than white guys…but a bit. I was on my toes the whole time and tried to keep a good repor with the tougher guys in the gang, we chatted a little bit to keep the peace and they knew it was worth it because as long as they did not do anything stupid the guards left them alone. Bont gangs were known to carry weapons to and from school and we had taken a lot of stuff off them in the past.

One day I was walking on the second floor, it seemed like a normal day and I was nearing the end of the school day. I was about an hour out from going home and just doing my second round and meeting up with the other guard on the second floor. That is when it happened. I saw a young Philipino guy yelling at a girl, I still say it is his girlfriend but never really knew. Then he did then one thing I can not stand….He smacked her. Right across the face. It was horrible! Her lip was split and she was on her butt. I ran up and knew better, drew my flash light out and was ready to nail him if I had to. He put his hands up to signal he did not want a fight. I yelled at him for a few seconds and then he grabbed at my flash light and started threatening me. I guess the knee I buried in his groin made him re think this. He bent forwards and yelled. I brought my arm up to defend if he rushed in, and took a few steps back.
It was at that point that I felt a shooting, hot pain under my arm. It was kind of like a tooth ache but in my arm pit! I thought maybe I pulled a muscle, but it was different and not in the right area. My arm closed hard and I noticed a guys hand was in my arm pit. The kids buddy had stabbed me in the arm pit as I was paying to much attention to the first guy. Instinct kicked in and I punched the guy that had stabbed me right in the face. His nose burst open and blood pored down his face. I had a sick feeling in my gut as the pain continued. I grabbed the guy that stabbed me and shoved him to the ground. By this time the second guard was their and trying to help me…..then I felt the same kind of pain in my thing…forgot the first guy. The other Guard kind of set into a panic as he realized this was for real!
I kicked at the first guy, who was lying down when he stabbed me and pushed him far enough away to scramble to my feet. But we stood at the same time. I was now limping because of the wound in my leg and he was still hurting from me launching his nuts into this throat. I was a bit out of it still and the other guard was sitting on the bigger guy that had stabbed me the first time. So then I caught the knife, not the good way…right in the arm. Friggin thing was not even a knife, it was a sharpened screw driver. He hit me in the arm and it hurt like nothing I had ever felt before. I was pissed off now, I kicked him in the neck, aiming for his head but missed, and he fell like a tone of bricks. He was not out, but I guess he was not used to getting hit. When he got back up I was starting to get a bit woozy and figured this was the time to end it if any, I smashed my foot into his chin as hard as I could and he fell down, He agains was not out, but he was not really awake as well. My partner and I cuffed both kids and the other guards in the building called me a ambulance, and the other guys as well. The cops got to the school and charged the kids, but it was not really a way of solving things, They were back at the school about four months later.
The only thing that saved me was the Philipino gang got close to me while the other guys were in juvenile hall. One of them even took Karate from me. When the other two came back they actually were “told” to apologize and leave me alone.

I ended up with 20 stitches and some nice scars on my leg and arm, but I don’t have any in my armpit because of were it was. The doctor that helped me said I was lucky because the punctures missed everything important.

I guarded that school for about three years on and off and had a reputation because of that day. Not the most fun I have had and I don’t suggest it to anyone.

the screw driver was a short on. Kind of like the ones you work on computers with. it was only about an inch and a half long from the handle to point...and I got the whole point.
The kicks were probably not what you would call beauty, but they worked well enough.
