Anyone here lose their job recently? How is the employement in your area?

I am currently in between jobs, but I just had an interview with the city. If I get the job I will be set.

I'm on the verge of losing my job, small retail business in the U.S. and we aren't making enough $$, and employment sucks in my area. The only other jobs I can get are through temporary work agencies who are late on paying you and treat you like crap.

The company I work for is closing down their operations in the west coast. 97% the employees lost their jobs. Fortunately, I get to keep my job but will be working at home. I hope I don't get a gut!

The bank I use got siezed by the fed and got their assets bought out by another one. A bunch of my peers are getting laid off as well. It's tough out there, how is it outside the U.S.?
