Yesterday we learned that Mir’s removal resulted from a nagging shoulder injury.
And according to The Fight Network, Joslin was also bumped from the card because of injury:
An undisclosed injury has forced Canadian welterweight Jeff Joslin to pull out of his scheduled bout with Kuniyoshi Hironaka (10-3) at the upcoming Spike TV-presented UFC Fight Night on April 5 at The Pearl in The Palms Casino & Resort in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Joslin, a Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt who has a strong following back in his native Canada, was brought into the organization this past December to face rising welterweight contender Josh Koscheck at UFC Fight Night 7. Although Koscheck had shown impressive striking in his previous win over Jonathan Goulet, the former NCAA Division I national wrestling champion reverted primarily to his wrestling skills to win rounds against Joslin.
Joslin entered the fight an underdog, and it was obvious the Fight Night crowd, which was comprised of U.S. soldiers at the Marine Corps Air Station Miramar, threw its support behind the UFC newcomer. Unfortunately, Joslin lost via unanimous decision.
There’s no word when Joslin, who has two fights remaining on his current three-fight contract, might compete next.
