Hmmm, tough Q. Personally here is my opinion - Try and make your striking very sporatic and explosive and return back to your standing position. Make sure after your strike everything is pulled back into it's place so that you are ready for defense, or another strike. I think that taking your limbs back fast should be as important as throwing them out fast, so keep that in mind.
Only thing I can recommend training wise is working the bag and the pads. If you are on Thai Pads then get the person holding to hit you back with the pads, and wear shin gaurds and kick you too. This will really sharpen your reflexes where it matters... dodging, blocking and parrying.
One more thing, get familiar with throwing combonations, so that they are almost automatic at your will without thinking, this will make you faster as there will be no hesitation, just blistering fast combinations.
