The Pride Middleweight Grand Prix Critical Countdown

Postby ATJ_Lucko » Fri Jun 24, 2005 7:46 am

This year's 2nd round of the Pride Middleweight Grand Prix Promises to be an absolutely exciting one as Wanderlei Silva, Shogun Rua, Kazushi Sakuraba, Ricardo Arona, and Igor Vovchanchyn all look forward to advancing to the third and final conflict of this year's GP.

As well on the card for this night, newcomer Judoka Pawel Natsula will make his Pride debut against interim heavyweight champion Nogueira.

Mirko "Crocop" Filipovic looks to add another brutal Knockout victory over Ibragim Magomedov, who's record dicates that he is a very heavy handed fighter. A victory on this night will get mirko one step closer to the title shot against fedor, which has been delayed for a second time.

Legendary and former UFC heavyweight champion Pedro Rizzo will be on the june 26th card as well, as he looks to beat a fast rising Mixed martial arts star from russia, Sergei Kharitonov, who proceeded quite far into the Heavyweight Grand Prix last year, until he was beaten by Nogueira. We saw Sergei throw murilo Ninja Rua over his shoulder, and destroy nogueira in crocop like fashion, only to lose the fight later, however we have seen pedro rizzo knock out the likes of heavy hitters such as josh barnett. this fight is expected to be the most critical and exciting fight of critical countdown 2005.

with 4 GP matches and 4 non tournament matches, critical countdown is an event you definately would like to see.
