First off Conversation does not serve "no purpose" with out conversation and sharring ideas no body evolves. Conversation and sharring of ideas is paramount in progression in the Martial arts and the MMA. So, talking about style may be fruitless, but what we get out of it is snippits of ideas that should be scowered for truth. Really the my style vs. your stle is a stupid argument. Who cares if TKD can take a Kung fu guy, or Judo is better than Hwrang do! You are correct, but if we ignore the fact that one "style" is not better than the next you can see that one Strategy is perhaps better than the next in specific situations and one technique is better than the next if used in a particular way.
As a former bouncer I can tell you that when BJJ first came out it was hell on wheels in the Dojo and at MMA events...but in the bar...not a good idea, Thai and stand up was better. you do not want to roll around on the floor with some moron, getting glass in your butt and probably curb stomped by his buddies. Get it, got it....good.

I do not want to talk about your "penis" and do not care to compare over the net who can get kicked in the nuts more times....once is way to often for me...I try and avoid it. But I must give you my condolences over the unfortunate prosthetic situation you have with your Gonadz! Sounds like a horrible story to have to recount! I feel for you brother!
I agree that fighting is mostly a mind set, All jokes aside, You do have to make sure that you are ready to do anything. But SD and MMA are two different animals. The skills you learn in MA and MMA can be applied, but dont fool yourself into thinking that a real SD situation can be totally trained in ANY MA or MMA gym. The variables are to great to completely train for a SD situation. The first time I got into a bar fight as a bouncer I got punched in the face and lost it. After everything was done I puked my lungs out when the adrenaline went away. Not something you can train for!

I could not agree more with the fact that if you are not ready to take it to the next level you should not fight on the streets....granted I dont see a reason to fight on the streets anymore as well. Most thugs like to fight on the street and I cant stand punks that think fighting proves they are men...Raising a family and taking good care of them proves you are a man. Protecting your family is a good thing Dude, but remember that if you go to far....you will have to figure out how to protect them while you are serving time. Style vs Style arguments are stupid...but so are pissing contests about who is tougher.
