Hey guys I've been training for a while and though I'm out for at least another month with broken ribs :( , I would like to try competing (mma) on an amature level so I can start to prepare for a pro level. Can anyone direct me to where I should /could get started?

head out to a good physio to get those ribs sorted out. After that join a gym where you agree with the instructors philosophy and where you have good sparring.

I agree with everything they are saying, with one add on...Join a gym that has a good MMA set up, not one guy teacing BJJ and some lame kick boxing and saying it is MMA...even if his BJJ is good.
Find one that has a good grappling coach and a good striking coach. and a conditioning coach if possible.

First look after those ribs of yours though.
