for the last couple months ive been doing a work out called cross fit, theres no routine and it is centered around cardio. its only 30 min.-1 hour long but afterwards i can barely stand up. after the hour long training session yesterday i went to practice my jiu jitsu and didnt submit people i normally would have had i not just expelled all my energy in conditioning. im trying to get ready to fight sometime in march or april and theres no doubt i need good cardio, but im not sure if right now its worth it if it means compromising my jiu jitsu and thai boxing technique.
any one else ever have a problem or dilemma like this?

How many times are you training a day? If you aren't training two times a day, you should start spreading it out like that. One big long training session(more than 3 hours) that includes a lot of conditioning can actually do more bad than good. Try going for a 4 km run in the morning followed by your cross fit program. Then at night, go for another run, 2-4 km depending how you feel then do your jiu-jitsu and thai boxing. Although it is preferred that if you are fighting, you should be doing either jiu-jitsu or thai boxing in the morning as well.

i have the option to train my jiu jitsu twice a week in the morning, as for my standup thats only 3 times a week in the evening. around here (were i live) its really wet and windy right now so now way am i running. i guess that fact that all my training is pushed into one 4 hour block probably isnt the best thing i could do. im going to work on spreading it out, thanks dude.

Yeah that seems a lot to do in 4 hours. Maybe you can find a tredmill or exercycle somewhere! Good luck:P

Do not Over-do training guys... theres no good result on doing so... Proper time management on some heavy exercises, stretching , warm-ups and low class body conditioning exercises before hard training is a must... No jump off to hard things do the basic first... Make it daily routine manage it step by step for effective training result.

First off what is your recovery routean? Also, I read your schedule for training, but can you be more specific...remember if you fail to plan..you plan to fail! what about eating and rest? I got some ideas that helped back in the day, and also after training lots of champs in Non-MMA I might be able to help out a bit.
