lol, ye, that vid shows the weakness of boxing, legs. i believe boxing is great, and very good, to street fighst as well to mma, but as a complement.the best complement i must say. becaus most boxers have never faced a person trained to kick, so they think they are godly, coz they have good hands. oh and erik, dnt be so stupid.

don't forget that you can find big mouthed fighters everywhere...

doesn't matter what sport or discipline you practice, boxing, wrestling, muay thai, jiu jitsu....

big mouthed fighters are bad for the sports... period.

Years ago Muhammad Ali bragged that he could beat any wrestler, and promptly challenged Bruno Sammartino, the then heavyweight champion, to a match. During a public exhibition match between himself and a Japanese wrestler Antonio Inoki, Ali got his legs kicked all to heck and ended up in the hospital after the match. The challenge match and all the hype faded away quickly and Ali never faced Bruno Sammartino...who would have killed him.

Gone are the great ones like George Foreman, Muhammad Ali, Julio Cesar Chavez, Sugar Ray Leonard, Roy Jones Jr., and others. The unfortunate thing about it now is that all the no-name boxers feel the need to call out MMA. And I'm sick of hearing about it. I have studied Kenpo, Aikido, Praying Mantis Kung-Fu, Thai Boxing, and BJJ as well as having wrestled in high school. I'm also interested in studying Krav Maga. My whole life, all I've ever seen boxers do is run their mouths. In high school, the Golden Gloves boxers always started fights with the wrestling team. Now, at the gym where I work out at, because we have a boxing club that also trains there, the boxers walk around running their mouths to almost everyone and anybody. I don't understand why boxers feel the need to go off at the mouth all the time. I use to respect boxing. Not anymore. Why is MMA looked at as barbaric? I mean come on! Mike Tyson is memorialized as the one of the greatest boxers of all time and all I remember him for is beating and raping women. Not a good visual as far as I'm concerned. I respect Dana White and I love to watch fighters mix it up in UFC. I've been known to watch IFL and Pride, K-1 and in Denver there's this one called Ring of Fire or something like that. Bottom line is, I enjoy training in MMA and I'm sick and tired of boxers trying to make us look inferior to them.

Roy Jones Jr. isn't gone, hes still boxing professionally.

as someone who trains in Boxing, i have nothing but respect and admiration for MMA fighters.

i plan to study muay thai and jujitsu as well to become a well rounded fighter.

yeah.the thing is though,so called ELITE boxers like those guys wouldnt give the time or day to even a medium level mma fighter unless they were guaranteed a nice lil pursee purse of at least 10 mill.elite level boxers are ALOT more business minded than a typical rough tough mma fighter who loves to fight PERIOD.With or without money involved. Not to mention, they'd be just flat out TERRIFIED of losing face. They'd rather just talk smack and be a typical cocky rich boxer.

There are a lot of martial arts out there that don't condition the face, let alone strike the face in every day training.
I have trained in quite a few martial arts over the years, and I have found most boxers I have trained or fought against in the ring to be humble, and driven to preserve their sport.
Boxers are a dying breed.
And as for kicking a boxer, I wouldn't say one kick to the leg would suffice. They train a lot in footwork, stance and balance.
You'd be hard pressed to knock a good boxer down with one kick to the leg.
