Ricky has been fighting his style and had to much success for him to be able to change it now. He is stuck in his ways but if you look at the only 2 people he has lost too, it's very hard to knock the guy.

Nobody can question Ricky Hattons fight record or his ability. He has been a champion for years and won belts at different weights with some great performances and some great KO's.

He has beat Like you said Tszyu and Castillo add to that list:
Carlos Maussa - who was a champion holding a win over vivian harris and put up a good fight against Cotto. Was KO'd by Hatton beautifully in the 8th round.
Luis Collazo - good record and tough durable fighter.
Juan Urango - Very tough fighter who had size and power advantage over Hatton. Has never lost to anyone other than Hatton still.
Juan Lazcano - comeback fight from losing to Mayweather, looked ok and still won easily.
Paulie Malignaggi - Very good boxer who even managed to go 12 rounds with Cotto but Hatton managed to stop him. Hatton actually DESTROYED him. Has some good wins under his belt including wins over Lovemore N'dou and Herman Ngoudjo.
Ray Oliveira - Who had never been stopped before Hatton battered him and holds a win over Vivian Harris and Vince Phillips (who Hatton also destroyed), Olivera was one hell of a puncher threw punches in bunches.

Hatton has never not wanted to fight the best in the world and has always been a 100% game fighter. A Great Champion and a fighter who managed to not just go to america but did very well there. Do not understand how you can question him. This isn't just a Ricky Hatton fan talking but a Boxing fan too.

Qwerty, You're chatting as if you're trying to argue that Hatton isn't a talented boxer.. (correct me if I'm wrong but that's how it comes across)

If so, I don't see how you can think he doesn't deserve the credit he gets. He is a great boxer, maybe not a superstar boxer but he is great and has one of the biggest fan bases in boxing for a reason. Not only is he a talented boxer he guarantees a good fight and fights with more heart than alot of boxers out there.

I will correct you, i'm saying he hasn't fought anyone good and won with the exception of Kostya Tszyu & José Luis Castillo. The guys that DR mentioned doesn't impress me. Not at all. Let's see what Hatton would do against JMM and Cotto then we could talk. <-- this is why i've been saying he shouldn't retire.

Here is an example of a fighter who has fough tough oppositions - Floyd Mayweather Jr.: Diego Corrales, José Luis Castillo, Arturo Gatti, Zab Judah, Oscar De La Hoya, Ricky Hatton.

And Another: Oscar de la Hoya - Julio César Chávez, Pernell Whitaker, Hector Camacho, Ike Quartey, Felix Trinidad, Fernando Vargas, Luis Ramón Campas, Ricardo Mayorga.

Agreed there, he did amazing at 140lbs except to his last defeat.

Agree there, great chin, good heart, could take a punch, goes for KOs, has KO power ... he makes exciting fights. I do not know anyone who can argue with that.

Qwerty Hatton list of wins might not impress you too much but do you actually think Mayweather and Pacquaio (worlds best ranked boxers would have fought him) if it wasn't an impressive record.

I did not say his list of wins was where Oscar De La Hoya and Mayweathers is, they are world wide legends who deserve there spot in lights. Hatton did however dominate his natural weight class of light WW and did move up to WW where he did well and also become a worthy and noted champion.
Ricky Fought and beat everyone there was to fight and beat at his natural weight class and so you cannot fault him on who he has fought. Yeah your right he has not fought Cotto and JMM and to be honest I doubt he would win but do not take anything away from the guy. He has NEVER ducked anyone or asked for weak fights. He is a gamer 1000% Next you will be ragging him for night fighting Lennox Lewis!!!

The impressive record did play a part for Hatton vs. Pacquaio, but it was also a giant fan base that got the fight together. UK has Hatton, Manny had the Philippines and Mexican fans.

To me Hatton = Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. They both have impressive records. Chavez Jr. has 39 wins no defeats and has a huge following in Mexico (superstar status). Hatton is 45-2 losing to the lb4lb greats and has a huge following in the UK also a superstar. Who did these guys really beat? Yes, impressive record but not impressive fighters whom they fought.

I am not ragging on anyone, I'm just stating the facts. If you haven't noticed I was giving Hatton some mad props as an exciting fighter.

Yes but you cant compare a guy against some og the greatest boxers ever and cos his record doesn't measure up slate him for not fighting the right guys to have a great record. But will agree with your last post as it does explain what you mean much better, I even agree EVER SO SLIGHTLY with it

I was referring to comparring the fight record of Hatton to that of Mayweather and De La Hoya...the comparison to Chavez Jr is closer, Hatton is still a few levels higher though. hatton has been around has earnt his stripes. The guy is an awesome boxer and in time Chavez Jr could be, never be as good as his dad but no shame there lol.
