Want to turn body into a weapon.

Postby VikingPower » Sun Mar 09, 2008 4:49 pm

I want to turn my body into a weapon. I've been weight training for a few months pretty hard, and I've started doing some cardio. I grew up wrestling in school, and I'm 23 now, and in pretty good shape.

Basically I just want some advice on what type of training I should focus on. There are 2 boxing clubs close by, and there is a MMA club somewhat close by that offers some BJJ. What would some of the vets around here recomend as far as training, or what types of classes to take, that could help me the most? Thanks.

Hey- it depends on how much money and time you have.

I would take all 3 if I could.

If not then go for the MMA and try to get a good monthly plan - so you can train 4 days a week on different things!

Find the line between trying too hard and not trying hard enough - this should keep you from getting injured and not training at all :)

Mainly for the street, but if I feel like I have a chance to compete in the ring/cage I would.

Have any of you ever tested how hard you can punch? Theres a machine that measures it and I'm thinking of trying it.

for street, take something like muay thai or another striking martial art such as wing tsun kung fu or ninjutsu ( the shiz), then also take something(either later on,like a few months,or at the same time) for submissions,so if you are on the ground,u can fight your opponent off....i would say wrestling might be hard to get into, unless your in like 6th grade, other wise,it will take you a few years to actually get pretty good at wrestling.....so i would recomend bjj or judo (i am a wrestler and judo practitioner-judo definnetely helps more in a submission fight).....but overall,i would recomend taking ninjutsu and bjj
